What you’ll do

This position reports to the Head of Capital Markets at Summit, who is responsible for all debt financing activities for the firm’s existing portfolio companies and for acquisition financings in conjunction with new investments, as well as maintaining dialogue with capital markets and sponsor coverage contacts at financial intermediaries with whom Summit has relationships.  The Associate will work closely with members of the Capital Markets group and each of Summit’s deal teams across its Boston, Menlo Park and London offices to complete financial analysis, transaction bench-marking, documentation and general execution support for financing and other capital markets related activities. The Associate will also often have interactions with the management teams of Summit portfolio companies throughout financing processes. The position will be highly focused on supporting the arrangement and execution of financings on a consistent basis across deal teams and industry sectors. Summit’s Capital Markets Team also works with our Growth Equity deal teams to structure and invest mezzanine debt from our captive subordinated debt funds alongside our equity investments.

What you’re like

Associates who join Summit Partners possess a strong record of academic achievement at the undergraduate level from a leading college or university. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of leadership skills, outstanding academic achievements and extra-curricular honors. For this Associate position, an understanding of economics, accounting, and corporate finance is assumed, though having majored in these fields is not a requirement. 

Additionally, the candidate should have:

  • Some prior experience or understanding of the leveraged finance capital markets
  • Strong cash-flow modeling skills in excel and understanding of valuation concepts
  • Some experience with leveraged finance market processes and documentation


Compensation is highly competitive. The Associate position is a three-year commitment. The role will be located in our Boston office in the heart of the Back Bay. Post-COVID you will have access to a full onsite gym, fully stocked kitchen, and cold brew on tap.
